They emphasize the sensory centers of the residents. They have birds in cages, fish tanks, a reading library, and a lot of stuff. I went to the assisted living side, saw their dining hall, actually met the chefs, and saw how everything was prepared.
The only thing is that it's very expensive. They have quite a few nice gathering rooms where they can watch TV and things like that outside of their rooms, so they can go out and mingle. I've been in and out of the Arbor Terrace Senior Living. I'm at the point right now where I can take care of myself and all they're doing is feeding me. I don't have anything to compare it to because I've never been anywhere else.

We have social things but certain things are being shut down. You can't do anything right now, but we would have bingo, games, or they would take us out just right around or to destination places. There are a lot of buildings on the street.

This would have been the one we selected for Dad. The rooms were all pretty standard, nice, and very apartment-like but homey. Donna was very nice and made the place seem very welcoming. It was fairly new and secure, so we felt comfortable.
My issue is with distance, so I am trying to find something that is good and close to my home. I have no complaints about Arbor Terrace. It was very nice, and everybody there was very helpful.

They have one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and efficiency, and they all looked very nice. The staff that I met seemed to be nice. Arbor Terrace has definite potential and different levels of care that my grandmother can buy into. The staff was very pleasant, approachable, and willing to answer our questions.
My mother wears this little alert buzzer; however, when she calls them, they may not come exactly as soon as she likes. Also, this community is convenient to where I live, so it is easy for me to visit my mother there. She has a shared room, where another lady shares the bathroom and the common area. They have various activities, like movies and bingo. They have trips to the mall, but as far as to the doctor, I take care of that. The room, the apartment, dining, social interaction activities, and amenities were all ideal and best for my cousin’s needs because she has slight dementia.

The facility might look nice from the outside and in the lobbies, but the rooms are absolutely filthy and the “care” they provide is subpar. There is also a serious lack of communication by the administration with family members, and questionable practices where it comes to medication and nutrition. We also often found my aunt laying in bed in the dark staring at the wall because no one had come in to turn a light or the TV on.
